My Care Options
Birth Doula Service
A birth doula provides emotional and physical support for the birthing person and their partner. Through prenatal appointments, the doula provides resources throughout pregnancy and helps you prepare for your upcoming birth. During your labor and birth, your doula will be an important member of your support team.
SERVICES
The doula serves the client and their partner in the following ways:
Emotional, physical and educational support during pregnancy, birth and postpartum
Upon contract signing, email/text/phone support during business hours (or after hours in unusual
circumstances)
A prenatal visit or two (approximately 1.5 hrs. each) to get to know your unique preferences for
this labor and postpartum period
I will be reachable 24/7 beginning two weeks prior to your estimated due date.
During your active birthing phase I provide continuous support as
defined as:
Facilitation of your birth vision, including but not limited to comfort measures, movement,
positioning, comfort measures, aromatherapy, additional music and/or special prayers and scripture, or anything else that feels supportive to you, either as included on your intake form, or as requested in your birthing room
Working with your partner (if applicable) to establish and maintain a peaceful and positive environment
Working with the staff and providers to establish rapport and to ensure that you have enough information to make informed decisions about your care
Supporting you is my top priority, but unless you request otherwise, I will also take pictures and record information for your birth story if possible (captured only as a keepsake for you)
FEES
The fee for birth doula support is $800 . A 50% deposit holds your space on my calendar and is due at time of contract signing. The remaining balance is due in full by 36 weeks of pregnancy. If baby is born prior to 36 weeks and doula attends the birth, payment is due within a week after the birth.
FSA and HSA are acceptable forms of payment
Postpartum Doula Service
The postpartum period, defined as time after the birth of your baby, is a very special time, deserving of a sensitive approach. A postpartum doula focuses on the needs of both the new parents and their newborn. Doulas nurture the parents by offering practical assistance as well as emotional support, enabling a faster recovery and increased confidence in meeting the challenges of parenthood.
Family and friends may respond to the new arrival with the perfectly timed call, visit, meal, gift, and set of helping hands. Some visitors unintentionally place stress on the new parents. A postpartum doula can help fill in the gaps and gently guide the extended family if needed, facilitating a smooth and rewarding transition.
SERVICES
Each family has different needs that may change from day-to-day. A postpartum session provides a check-in on how the last 24 hours has gone, formulation for a plan for the session, and can include anything that feels supportive inside the home.
Examples:
Breastfeeding support (referral to a lactation consultant if needed)
Troubleshooting with feeding and sleeping cycles
Spending time with your baby so you can rest
Basic household tasks
Assistance with after-birth healing (sitz bath, emotional support, etc.)
Organization of supplies
Helping with baby care and babywearing, guiding you as you learn
Grocery shopping, errands
Simple meal preparation
